02Why Beacon

Coordination without the radio and the guesswork

Replace the phone tree, the verbal address relay, and the endless “where are you now?” with one live picture the whole desk shares.

Without Beacon

  • Phone tree, then radio relay
  • “What’s your exact address?”
  • Coordinates read aloud — and mis-heard
  • No shared picture; everyone guessing

With Beacon

  • One secure link, texted to the caller to relay their location
  • Exact GPS location on the map in seconds
  • One live board the dispatchers share
  • Triage, dispatch, track — no refresh
03The product

One live map everyone shares — standard or satellite.

Every unit, caller, and area of responsibility on one map that updates the instant anything moves — flip to high-resolution satellite in a click. The maps are built in and served by Beacon, so there are no map API keys and no per-load map billing.

  • Real-time units, callers, and areas of responsibility
  • Standard and satellite maps built in — no map fees or API keys
  • Priority triage with overdue-call flashing
  • Every screen updates live — nobody hits refresh

After-action, already written

Every ping captured. The report writes itself.

Every action and location update is recorded automatically and can’t be altered — so the after-action review is already written. Out of the box: call volume, time-to-dispatch and on-scene response times, and per-unit utilization, by priority and district.

04How it works

From a text message to an arrival, on one timeline

Four steps from “we got a call” to “a unit is on scene” — every one of them captured automatically.
  1. 01

    Text a link

A dispatcher texts the caller a secure link — no app to download, nothing to install; it opens right in their browser.

  2. 02

    Caller shares location

One tap shares the user’s live GPS and it lands on the map instantly. Optionally share photos with the dispatcher.

  3. 03

    Triage & dispatch

Set priority, assign the nearest unit, and log it — every connected screen updates live, no refresh.

  4. 04

    Track to resolution

Assigned units close the distance on your live map, and arrival is marked on-scene automatically — no radio check-ins.

05Capabilities

A full dispatch desk, out of the box.

The shape every field operation shares — something happens, triage by severity, dispatch the nearest qualified crew, track to resolution — with the security and audit trail a serious operation needs.

07FAQ

Questions, answered

Do callers need to install an app?

Never. A caller taps the link you text them and shares their location from the browser — no app, no account, nothing to sign into.

Are there map fees or API keys to manage?

No — the maps (standard and satellite) are built in, with no map API keys and no per-load map billing. The one outside service you do need is an SMS provider (Twilio) to text callers the location link, billed by them at their standard per-message rates.

Is my organization’s data kept separate from other customers?

Yes — completely. Each organization’s data is fully isolated, with its own encrypted settings and a permanent, tamper-proof audit trail. There’s no way for one customer to see another’s information.

What languages are supported?

English and French, across both the web console and the responder mobile app — including localized push notifications.

What does it cost to get started?

Create a workspace and run the full dispatch workflow free for 30 days — no credit card. After that it’s a simple per-seat price, and a solo operator stays free. Maps are included; texting callers uses your own SMS provider (e.g. Twilio) at their standard per-message rates.
